Supply Chain Management
opportunity
Led a dynamic and global SCM design team in the development of an advanced collaborative tool, empowering supply chain managers to construct real-time, data-driven simulations.
team
I was the design lead on this project, managing a team of four globally dispersed designers.
impact
The
vision
Customer excitement from a demo that was generated early on and shared at Oracle Open World helped gain project momentum. The following gif shows how intelligence matches entered invoice lines (on the left) with the original invoice (on the right), making it easy for AP Specialists to resolve disputes.
research
Observing and talking to users was critical for this project as the design team had a huge learning curve, trying to understand how the accounts payables processes work. Throughout the course of this project, I both lead research sessions myself and partnered with the research team to conduct various studies. I also set up learning sessions for the team on Fridays where we would input invoice information using the existing tool and have experts join our sessions to teach us about general accounting.
The following is a Jobs to be done framework outlining the process.
designing for wide screens
The explorations below are from an ideation session with the team where I was encouraging them to think about responsiveness beyond breakpoints and page reflows: “How might we leverage the real-estate of large screens to increase productivity?”
po matched invoice creation
The flow below demonstrates a step toward automating invoice entry. Here, an AP Invoice specialist creates a new invoice and most of the fields are automatically completed after matching it with the PO number.
forward thinking
The following screens show how savings opportunities are not only identified, but different payment discounts are suggested so that the agent can make a decision on spending in order to optimize internal cash flow.
